External antena (UHF RFID Antenna (RP-TNC)) is not working

Dear Community,

I am using a Simultaneous RFID Tag Reader (M7E Hecto) with Raspberry Pi. I have attached UHF RFID Antenna (RP-TNC) to M7E reader through uFL connector.

I am using Mercury API to read the tags. I can successfully read tags.
My issue is that only antena 1 (which is the built in antena on card reader) is accessible.

You’ll need to ensure matches the specs listed here Using an External Entenna - SparkFun Simultaneous RFID Reader - M7E Hookup Guide and also be sure to move the resistor as detailed a few paragraphs down; it should end up looking like this photo

which has the resistor moved to the left one pad position (creating the u.FL circuit aand disabling the on-board antenna)

This is the stock board, look very closely at the resistor labeled “RF” at the top middle…in the first photo it’s under the “R”, 2nd/stock it is under the “F”

@TS-Russell
Thanks for your reply.
Mentioned resistor has already been moved to correct position. Please see attached image.

Your resistor is in the incorrect location, it needs to be under the “R” to enable the external antenna. It’s currently in the position for the internal antenna.
