Facet connection to DataLogger IoT - 9DoF

Hello,

I have a RTK Facet (SKU: GPS-19984) and the Facet is equipped with a Qwiic connector. The hookup guide does not provide much info about this connector: “This 4-pin Qwiic connector exposes the I2C bus of the ESP32 WROOM module”.

According to the documentation: the DataLogger IoT - 9DoF automatically scans, detects, configures, and logs various Qwiic sensors plugged into the board.

So…I was wondering if I can connect a a RTK Facet to the DataLogger IoT - 9DoF (SKU: DEV-20594) via their respective Qwiic connectors, and have the DataLogger records both its IMU data and the GPS data from the RTK Facet.

I am curious to get any feedback, if somebody has already tried (before I do and damage something  )

Thank you!

Hi @JSK ,

Sorry, no, that is not possible.

The DataLogger can log data from the ZED-F9P GNSS, but only if it has exclusive access to its I2C bus. The ESP32 processor inside the Facet would also be connected to and would also be communicating with the ZED, and all kinds of chaos would happen…

Good question though!

I hope this helps,
Paul
