First Eagle Board, Will you Take a Look?

I have my first eagle board attached. Will you take a look and see if I have any glaring errors or if I misunderstood the process in some way? Thank you.

One tutorial on eagle suggested a V+ plane on top of the board and GND plane on the bottom. Sparkfun seems not to use these in some of the boards I have downloaded and viewed. What should I do?

The vreg is an LM1117A and I am expecting it to output 5V. I used the suggest application from the data sheet.

Eagle files are here <old files removed!>

(Power traces increased in size)

I designed this board to hang on the back of a 4x20 LCD connected by the 16 pin header. That is why I didn’t add standoffs. The dimensions are 2.3 x 2.45. I am hoping to match the footprint of the LCD, but I might need some minor adjustments. I still need to do a 1:1 test print, but I am waiting for the surface mount components to arrive.

What I don’t understand is that I see an airwire near middle of board (fixed now in image above), but DRC checks fine. How can that be?

I just looked at the image not the Eagle files. You need to implement a ground plane on both sides and use ratsnest. That will simplify the layout tremendously. The grounding you have now doesn’t appear to be sufficient. The power leads also seem a little small (just eyeballing it).

Do the groundplane/ratsnest and update the post.

Thank you. Here is the revised board.
