i want to buy a development board with an arm7. i am looking for a development board which is needed in the automotive sector, it should have CAN. if you have any experience with such boards and what other criteria, expected CAN, are needed please let me know.

Do you mean arm7 or armv7? they mean different things.
arm7 could be arm7tdmi like the str7, lpc or at91 devices.
armv7 could mean cortex - stm32 or luminary devices.

I would go for something like with an lpc2129/lpc2368/lpc2378. These all support can bus and plus you’ll find good software support for these devices. There is an example with an lpc2129 and can bus on the following site http://www.siwawi.arubi.uni-kl.de/avr_p … _projects/. Also you can download example software for can bus from www.iar.com.
