FTDI breakout board with Robertsonics wav trigger connection issue

Could somebody suggest how I might get my WT config to recognise the wav trigger board using a FTDI breakout board? I have looked in system information and it does not show up on any USB port.

I am running OS Big Sur 11.4 on a 2017 iMac retina 4K

The wav trigger works perfectly using the SD card.
