Games Controller

I am trying to build my own games controller, and I have a few problems:

  1. Most of the button/switches/joysticks do not have a mounting thing, so how do you mount them?

  2. Could somebody recommend a product that is like the a/b/x/y that you find on almost all controllers nowadays (they don’t need to say a/b/x/y)?

Thanks for all replys

Google "DIY gamepad"

Google "DIY gamepad"
  1. I don’t know the technical name, some buttons have metal things with screws in on them, I don’t know what there called.

  2. I don’t mean to be rude, but I am getting fed up of people telling me to Google things, it’s a bit insulting. If I hadn’t googled diy gamepad, I would not have asked the question, I mean I want a product link or something. Also how would googling diy gamepad help anyway?

Images would help. Something [[like this](https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9340)? With a nut to mount?

If other people are telling you to Google, then maybe you are not giving Google a chance to teach you. Not trying to be rude. But when Googling "diy gamepad" gave a lot of ideas and methods to build your own. You could also go to the Shopping tab in Google and see what's in there. But since you said you were trying to build *your own*, figured you would want the buttons, then some type of proto board to install them. Sparkfun does sell some small buttons you could use.](https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9340)

  1. I am looking for buttons that are like the a/b/x/y ones, spark fun doesn’t sell those, can you recommend a link?](Concave Button - White - COM-09340 - SparkFun Electronics)

More like this mounting thing: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11310

That one also has a nut for mounting.

I know it had a mounting thing, but how do you mount ones that do not have a mounting thing?

Getting creative, thinking out side of the controller box. Build something around the ‘unmountable thing’ to lock it in, and mount that to something. Or when every attempt fails, superglue, … then gaffer-tape.

Without pictures of an example of a ‘unmountable thing’ or a/b/x/y-something this discussion is getting silly.

It's not silly, but I created a new topic called game controller mounting, so ignore this thread now.

So how is creating a new thread going to help you?
