GE863-GPS: Anyone used the digital voice interface (DVI)?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Telit DVI port on the GE863 or other models that support it.

I started my design with the datasheet “Telit_Digital_Voice_Interface_Application_Note_r0.pdf”, which seems to have disappeared from Telit’s site in the last month. But the AT#DVI command is now documented in the AT command manual so I’m pretty sure it’s still supported. However, the 2 modules I have here don’t seem to recognize the command (one returns ERROR, the other +CME ERROR: 4). The firmware versions are 07.02.701 and 07.02.703.

I’m assuming I may need to upgrade the firmware on these modules, but can’t find a download anywhere for the firmware or flashing utility referenced in the Software manuals.

Thanks for any pointers you can provide!

I’m guessing not many people are using DVI

I confirmed with Telit that DVI is supported in firmware versions 07.02.703 and up. One of my modules (ordered from SFE) was loaded with .701, but I was able to upgrade it with the flashing utility provided by Telit.

The other issue was that the AT#DVI command was improperly documented in the datasheet “Telit_Digital_Voice_Interface_Application_Note_r0.pdf”, which might be why they took it down. With the correct commands (documented in the AT command doc) it’s working well for me here.

hi!

I make a project called OBU, and I use the GM863-GPS platform.

I have connect my PC with the DSUB of the S3-Board. Now, I have a problem with the terminal program. I receive something in binary that I don’t know what that means. If somebody can help me to decode the code, I apreciate.

I just want the velocity and geographical coordinates.

Thanks
