GE865 evaluation board - can't get to "hello"

Yesterday I started tinkering with a GE865 Evaluation Board and so far I have been unable to get anywhere at all. (I am familiar with Arduino but this is the first time I’ve toyed with GSM.)

I plugged the board into my laptop (macbook pro) and it showed up as a serial port. I then manually turned the board ON. (The status LED blinks slowly.) I used both Cornflake and the serial terminal in Arduino (115200 baud) and couldn’t get any response. I attempted the “AT” command but received no response. The Telit Modules Software User Guide says that it should respond “OK”.

The TX LED lights up, but I noticed this morning that the RX LED is physically broken.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, so I tried it with a new board and with using OSX’s Terminal app and I got the OK response to AT. All appears to be good for the moment. Thanks.
