i bought a GM862 evaluation kit and i face some problem here.At 1st i assembly the evaluation kit and put a valid sim card on it,connect it with a 5V,400mA adapter and then plug in to the PC. i had alrdy installed the driver which i get it from http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm. When i plug in the board to the PC, the green LED starting blinking. is it everything goes right up to here???after that i open hyperterminal, connect it at 9600-8-N-1 and turn the flow control to hardware. Now the problems occur. supposingly i type “AT” at the hyperterminal screen and get a reply “OK”…but when i type in the hyperterminal windows, there is nothing display on the screen…whatever key i press it never display on the screen…can any1 help me pls…URGENT!!!
Maybe u can double check ur com port and baudrate. For my PC, the com port sometimes changes and the baudrate for my one is 115200.
And when the greens lights starts blinking doesn’t mean the module is turn on. U have to manually turn it on. Then when u see orange light starts blinking, it means the module is turn on.

what u mean by manually turn it on???since from the day i start test the board, i never see there is an orange light there. The only light is red(on when plug in the board to PC) and the gree light. Where is the orange light u said??
after about 5 emails detailing action taken eventually diagnosed faulty board - they have offered to replace - thanks sparkfun! - but due to my time restrictions I have instead resorted to hooking the evk up to a max 232 instead.
we also have the same problem here. AT commands are not displayed on the screen. have u solved ur problem??? we guess there is some error with the evaluation kit(board). plz… reply us as soon as possible, if you find any solution…
kenshin:
open hyperterminal, connect it at 9600-8-N-1 and turn the flow control to hardware.
Should the flow control be set to hardware? That would mean that RTS/CTS and/or DTS/DSR pins are used, which for minimal serial connection the pins are often not used.
I don’t the evaluation board, but I’d suggest disabling (off or none) flow control and trying again.
