Gerber File Extensions - What do they stand for???

I’m trying to place a large/bulk order of pcbs.

But when I upload my gerber files I get this error

Warning:GerberFile - filetype of mirt.brd unknown!

Warning:GerberFile - filetype of mirt.bsk unknown!

Warning:GerberFile - filetype of mirt.bsp unknown!

Warning:GerberFile - filetype of mirt.dri unknown!

Warning:GerberFile - filetype of mirt.fab unknown!

Warning:GerberFile - filetype of mirt.gpi unknown!

Warning:GerberFile - filetype of mirt.mpd unknown!

Warning:GerberFile - filetype of mirt.oln unknown!

Warning:GerberFile - filetype of mirt.slk unknown!

Warning:GerberFile - filetype of mirt.tsp unknown!

Does anyone know what these files are?

Eagle has a different extension for each layer by default. Since most people using batchpcb use eagle, they parse the file names to automatically select which file goes to which layer.

If you’re not using Eagle (like me) you just need to manually select which file goes to each layer.

err, that may or may not be your problem after I read it again.

Where are you uploading these files (BatchPCB.com)?

If you are buying in bulk, why not use a service or

PCB house scaled to your needs? (BatchPCB is for

prototypes, and will not be cost or time effective

for production orders). How many are you buying?

What CAD software are you using?

If you are using EAGLE have you run the CAD/CAM

job provided by SFE for EAGLE (to format the files

for BatchPCB)?

Where can I find this CAM job? I’ve tried the gerb274x that came with EAGLE 5.0 but it didn’t quite do everything I needed.

To answer my own question, I think I found it at:

That application and a good tutorial for EAGLE to BatchPCB

processing can be found [here.
