I’m developing a device that I’d like to wirelessly connect (via cellular) to a PC running a custom land-line modem-driven app.
I imagined I would use the GM862 and send the usual ATDTxxxxxxx phone number, which rings the line connected to the PC modem, connection occurs and data transfer bliss ensues…just like the old BBS days.
The principal reason for this setup is (a) data rate is not super-high concern, and (b) device could be used in areas where only basic cell service is available, i.e. no internet or digital.
I’m really not up on the cellular tech stuff at all…is this doable with this module? I’m ready to click “checkout”…but need to know I’m buying the right part.
