GM862

Hi,

I’m having some trouble with my GM862.

I have three sim cards:

Active Cingular ‘3g’

Inactive Cingular ‘3g’

Inactive AT&T

Regardless of which SIM I use, the GM862 always comes back with “+CME ERROR: SIM not inserted” when I issue the “AT+CPIN” command. The module also shuts off after the error response to the “AT+CPIN” command is returned…

I am feeding it 3.8V w/ a DC Power Supply.

Any ideas?

Here’s what I see at startup…

SEND: AT
RECV: OK

SEND: AT+IPR=19200
RECV: OK

SEND: AT+CMEE=2
RECV: OK

SEND: AT#BND=1
RECV: OK

SEND: AT+CPIN
RECV: AT+CPIN+CME ERROR: SIM not inserted

Thanks!

I think the SIM error was a timing issue… I’m waiting longer in between each command in the startup sequence and they’re all coming back OK now.

I got the GM862 to hook up to the network once, but it’s consistently not working… It gets through the init sequence with the LED flashing quickly and then shuts itself off…
