HAC-UM12 Notes

Friends,

I am new to this forum but I am experimenting with the UM12 modules. I was having problems getting them working, but after some experimenting things are good to go. I read in a few other posts that the “SLEEP” pin serves no function (they are disabled), I found this to not be the case for me. I had to have the “SLEEP” pin tied LOW on both modules, this was the only way to get them communicating. I figured I would post this so perhaps someone would avoid my mistakes. Other then that, the modules work great, good product, hopefully the guys at SparkFun will continue to carry them.

Best regards,

Steve

Well, you may be a new user, but you are a clever one! The “sleep to ground” fixed my 9600 modules so now they talk.

Many thanks!

I have no problems when I leave the “sleep” line open.

Using a BX-24 with the following com port config like:

DefCom3(6,7,bx0000 1000)

Which means: 9600baud, no parity, 8 bits, “non-inverted” logic.

Any question is welcome.
