Help choosing my GPS GNSS RTK Hardware.

Hello I need some help, I am looking for a GPS, for using it at Jalisco, México.

I need to make a topographic survey, for measuring levels and polygonal as mucha as 7 km Diameter.

I have an existing GPS Coordinates point, marked in the ground, with the corrected coordinates, this is an existing rectified coordinate.

There is no Internet at the location.

I need a gps equip with the next capabilities:

A) I need an equip with Base and Rover, RTK.

B) I need to place de Base above the physical existing marked point, which I know the actual coordinates.

C) Fix / Correct the Base coordinates to the real ones.

D) Make the survey with the Rover, RTK. the better precision the best.

E) Save the survey coordinates into a .txt file, or a file which I can handle the coordinates.

I am thinking of the next models:

  1. GPS-18443 x 2 SparkFun RTK Surveyor

2) (GPS-17751 x 2) GNSS Multi-Band L1/L2 Surveying Antenna - TNC

  1. WRL-20029 x 2 - SparkFun LoRaSerial Kit - 915MHz (Enclosed) or WRL-19032 - SiK Telemetry Radio V3 - 915MHz, 100mW ?

  2. LoRa Fiberglass Antenna Type N - 5.8dBi (863-870MHz), Can I use this Antena Simultaneously with the Sparkfun RTK surveyor :stuck_out_tongue: ?

Does this arrangement will be usefull for my needs, or do I need something else to make it work properly?

So, you have a good idea of everything so far…

  1. Yep, as long as ~1.4cm horizontal accuracy is within your specs (if not, we also sell https://www.sparkfun.com/products/23088 which is 0.6cm + 0.5PPM)

  2. I recommend this antenna instead https://www.sparkfun.com/products/23088

  3. Either one will work great, the LoRaSerial kit has more range

  4. Eh, sort of…that is a 915MHz antenna meant for LoRa…so you could use it on the serial radios but it wouldn’t benefit the RTK surveyor itself

We also sell this https://www.sparkfun.com/products/20000 which is a base/rover in one, and has slightly less accuracy (1.4-1.6cm)

You’ll want the 915MHz version of the fiberglass antenna for Lora or the telemetry radio, it’s part number is WRL-15597.
