Help with DIY Qi Wireless Charger

Hi SparkFun,

I am following this http://www.forum.xda-developers.com/sho … ?t=2545350 DIY guide on making a Qi Wireless Charger for my Nexus 5. While the guide is pretty straightforward (and awesome), I was thinking about taking the project a little further by adding the following:

  • a). Fiber Optic Led (to tell me when it’s on & off)

b). PCB mountable Power Switch (to cut off the electricity when i leave it plugged into a power supply)

  • I’m obviously going way past my general knowledge in the field, so I thought id reach out to the spark fun forums to get some help…

I don’t have a datasheet/ very clear picture of the PCB, but you can see it here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/QI-wirel … 47887.html

My questions are: where on the PCB can I glue the Fiber optic LED and mount the Power Switch? I think I see an LED on the board but i don’t see any where I can mount the Power Switch/ Push button…

Appreciate any help and input. thanks in advance!

I don’t have an answer to your questions right now, but I wanted to post and say a huge thanks as this helps with an upcoming project. I have some micro drones as a mobile sensor network and was wondering about having them land on charging mats and charge themselves when they need to.

So big thanks for the links, and if I find an answer to your questions I will be sure to post back.

    Paul
