Hitec Servo vibrating with Servo Trigger

Using a Servo Trigger to run a Hitec HS-625MG. The controller works as intended moving between the two positions, and the speed potentiometer works. However once the servo moves to its intended position it sits there and vibrates. I’m thinking I may need to run the servo power and controller power off separate power sources. I am using a DC-DC buck converter (also bought from Sparkfun) to bring the voltage down from 12v to 5v. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

It sound like the beginning of “brown out” - most HiTec servos want to run @ 6v or 7.4v, try running it off a separate power source and give it at least 6v and see how that goes

Thanks I’ll try a 6V supply. It’s a shame that the Servo Trigger spec is “absolute maximum supply voltage that should be applied is 5.5 VDC”, and meanwhile Hitec servos, also sold by Sparkfun, might require 6v.

at 6v it does seem more stable, only vibrating for a second after moving back to position A. So much better result, thanks. I think I can live with this. Although this is going into a car, so all the grounding circuit is the same, as I have set up in my test…I wonder if the vibrating would vanish completely were the 5v and 6v circuits not sharing a ground

Replaced the Hitec servo with an amazon servo, and it works perfectly…no buzzing, just servo motor noise while moving
