How can I connect a 12-pin ZIF/FFC cable to my Arduino Uno?

Hi everyone,

I’m new to Arduino and hardware electronics in general, so please bare with me if this is a rather basic question or if I have some technical terms mixed up :slight_smile:

I have an embedded module (small barcode scanner) that I want to connect to my Arduino Uno for a project. It has what I believe is a 12-pin ZIF/FFC cable attached to it for interface. What are my options for connecting this to my Arduino?

From the datasheet supplied by the producer I get the logics of which pin should be connected where, but I need someone to explain my options for getting the pins from that very small ZIF/FFC cable into individual pins for connecting wires.

What are my best options working with this interface?

That is a bit hard to tell if we don’t know what the trace spacing is on your ffc. If you can measure the overall width of those traces to be close to 6mm on average then it is probably correct. But it has to fit the breakout board connector in every way. Show pictures!
