How to: 10-20 LEDs in electric guitar powered by coin cell and with color/function control?

Hi,

I am trying to figure out what is possible or not for a project. I would

like to install 10-20 small LED lights into the control and pick up

cavities of an electric guitar, and I would like those lights to be powered

by battery, ideally coin cell(s). Also, I would like to be able to control

the function and color of those lights. Is this possible? I have zero experience

with this so don’t know what to buy. I would love any tips or help at all!

I have attached a photo of the guitar with blue dot graphics to indicate

where lights may go.

Thank you!

Matt

I’d be really tempted to start with an off-the-shelf LED string and see about shortening it as needed. The battery box and electronics could probably be modified to fit in the guitar body.

If you’re looking to change the color of your LEDs or make them blink, [one of these might work.](https://www.sparkfun.com/products/16792)
