how to choose a memory IC?

Hello,

I’m trying to pick my memory chip for my LPC2468 design and was

wondering how the various memory configurations affect the design.

For example these Micron chips come in the following configurations:

MT48LC64M4A2 – 16 Meg x 4 x 4 banks

MT48LC32M8A2 – 8 Meg x 8 x 4 banks

MT48LC16M16A2 – 4 Meg x 16 x 4 banks

How do I pick which memory is right for my application?

The second number is the bus width.

An MT48LC16M16A2 – 4 Meg x 16 x 4 banks

has a 16 bit wide data bus.

Looks like the LPC2486 has a 16bit wide bus for its external memory controller (http://www.olimex.com/dev/lpc-e2468.html),

so I think you should use a MT48LC16M16A2
