How to communicate between Venus GPS and Arduino

Hi,

I want to build my own autopilot for my RC boat. Because I don’t let it go on big lakes or something like that, but on ship canals, I need an GPS with a high accuracy.

I found the Venus GPS Modul http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc … ts_id=9133. I didn’t find one with a higher accuracy. Is this GPS suitable for my plan?

I read that the GPS returns the coordinates in NMEA-0183 or SkyTraq Binary sentences. Which of both is the default return of the Modul? And my last question:

How can I communicate with the GPS. Is it enough to connect the TX and RX Pins with Software Serial or Hardware Serial pins of the Arduino, or do I need a converter or something like that?

Greetings Philipp

It can communicate with TX and RX pins with some software and hardware pins. The GPS is communicate and configured with 10Hz for to establish the connection . It also communicate with the members with their private messages into them .
