But I got a Ding and Dent BlueSMiRF, still waiting for the AT command sheet in the mail, but I cant find anything wrong…
I connected it up to a FT232R breakout board (USB ↔ Serial converter) and powered up the smirf with 3.3v from an old ATX supply I have.
I followed the instructions in the datasheet and set the smirf to 57600 baud and I set the same on the usb-serial adaptor. Opened up 2 windows of hyperterminal, and almost everything works fine…
I tried sending a few text files, and that worked fine, but when I would try to send a 96k .jpg file, I forget which way, the bluesmirf window crashed.
I’m not worried about it, I’m not going to be sending any files over the serial link, just text strings for now, and data strings later.
Once I get the AT command sheet I’ll check out higher baud rates, but as of now, It seems all is in working order… Never though Id complain about that, but when you expect something to not be working… and it does, it only makes you look harder
