I'm looking for a better way to connect 2 pcbs connected by a 10x1 ribbon cable

I’ve recently taken on a project hacking a computer to run a custom bootloader. The project is here

https://github.com/kinx-project/kint

I’ve got everything soldered but I have two places where existing keyboard pcbs have a ribbon cable that needs to be attached to the new custom board (pics attached)

The soldering job I did on these is horrendous. Does anyone know of a better way to do this or if there’s a 10x1 connector I can use instead?

Any help would be fantastic

Thanks for reaching out to us on this.

It might be a good idea to remove the connection, and solder leads/wires/headers to the ribbon cable…otherwise, if the design is functional, just find a way to apply heat-shrink tubing or something else to prevent shorting on the ‘purple’ side

Hope this helps, and happy sparking!

You could remove the connector from the purple board altogether and just solder to the holes.

I think there are field installable 10x1 connectors that clamp on but I can’t find the right one at the moment.
