Hi,
I’m not an expert, can you help me with the technical and design choices?
I’m doing a study for a possible geolocalization and tracking project for vehicles that move on rails (city trains).
The trains move in metropolitan and peripheral areas, some sections are affected by tunnels, bridges and structures that can interrupt 4G, GPS, GNSS, WiFi etc. communications.
Naturally the trains must be detected and tracked even in these difficult conditions.
For this reason I ask you if GNSS-INS, RTK and dead-Reckoning technology can be used and if you can advise me which of your products can be used for my project.
I’ll list my macro needs:
1.The system must perform tracking (geolocalization) of trains in a metropolitan city
-
The track routes may pass through areas not provided by a telematic signal or shielded areas, such as tunnels, bridges, metal structures, underpasses
-
It must always be able to locate the train even in the absence of GNSS or 4G or wireless signal
-
It must have the Dead-Reckoning function, odometer, accelerometer and everything needed to reconstruct the position of the train in the event of a GNSS/4G signal failure
-
Precise detection in the station. When the train arrives at the station it is necessary to detect the number of the arrival platform, therefore it is necessary to have a precision of less than a meter
-
We could install RTK Station every 10km?
7.Could the RTK Station signal be propagated in tunnels or critical areas?
