Hello,
I have an IBM t42p notebook with integrated IBM Bluetooth III. Do I still need the Bluetooth Dongle provided with the BlueSMiRF?
No, as long as it supports the standard virtual serial port over Bluetooth profile.
I connected the BlueSMiRF, but it does not work. The system (XP) finds the Blueradio device, but assigns two ports, one for incoming and one for outgoing data? When I try to connect, XP wants to have a passcode (even if I said no passcode during installation). Can anybody help me please?
Is there any documentation on the bluetooth device?
Hi Fried,
All documentation should be available in the datasheet, [here.](http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/RF/BlueSMiRF_v1.pdf)
So I progressed a little bit, I can send the BlueSMiRF AT Commands, but the link to my ServoPod processor board seems not to work. I think the problem is the Rs232 SMD Shifter. BTW where is the description of the available AT Commands? I cannot find it on the net.
I think you have to request the AT command specification directly from Sparkfun or BlueRadios because of non-disclosure issues.
Send Sparky an email at SparkFun and they can send the specification to you.
There’s no official nondisclosure involved — I didn’t have to sign or agree to anything to get the docs — but Blueradios doesn’t want the docs publicly posted for some reason. Just email sparkfun and they’ll mail you a link.
I’m pretty sure I could send someone my copy without breaking any agreements or laws, but I’d rather respect the wishes of the blueradios people.
