Interested in Touch Light Switch

Would anyone have any interest in a touch light switch kit? The kit would include all the nessary parts and instructions to build a project that would replace a standard residential light switch using a capacitance sence IC and relay. I would also like to possibly include some other electronics that would light an emergency light in case of a power outage, or network many switches together and toggle them all from one central location.

I’m asking really to see if there would be any sort of demand for a kit or already build product like this. I have schematics designed already but would be open to any design suggestions too.

This is a neat idea. I think the only change I would apply is to utilize an adjustable LED backlight to the touch surface for low-light / nighttime visibility. It always sucks fumbling for a lightswitch in the dark.

Hello All

If anyone know about the touch light so please tell me, I am Interested to purchase anyone have the any product name or any demo…

Thanks…

Is that not just going to be an extremely basic kit containing an off the shelf blanking plate for the light box, connected to a PIC to monitor resistance/capacitance, and in turn turn on/off a relay? So its just a handful of components anyone can just buy from the local store, solder up in minutes and fit in anyway ? Or is it harder than that?

I don’t know what sort of immunity you’d get because your selling a kit, but it sounds like a regulatory head-ache.

You need to be careful what you supply complies with the electrical safety regs for where it is being sold.

If it burns down somebodies house, and it was made according to the instructions, the owner would probably be pissed off.

Hi, touch light switch has been around for ages, it base on bed side touch lamp technology which I can’t see much risk just need to get from a know supplier. I have them installed in my new house and experience no issue for the last 3 years…got to admit that they have impressed most of my guesses everyone asking about the touch light switch

BTW, I got it from these guys www.touchswitch.com.au
