inventors kit arduino is frezzing up. I think i need handholding. i am trying to make it work
Which invetors kit? (There are at least two)
I think it’s the og kit with arduino, not micropython
I’m using micro phyton. It’s the C+.
And it works at school.
So I don’t believe it is the kit.
I need help
Version 4.1a
Correction. The inventors doesn’t use python it uses c+. This is per the genius who gets his project done in 2minutes.and approved by teacher.
I still need real help. I’m sure it’s simple
if some cared to look.
What is freezing?
We need more information to offer help.
I included a screen shot. I how do I talk to you? I heard I’m not allowed to talk to you.
Your screenshot didn’t attach, can you try again? There’s no voice chat on the forums, only text.
UPDATED NEW INFO. Related to Sparkfun Inventors Kit (version 4.1A). I’m using Microsoft version 10 software.
I deleted everything that I did & started
ALL OVER FROM STRATCH.
PLC IDE INSTALLLER will not install, it keeps asking me to install and if I want a desktop icon. Of course I said yes.
This happened about 10X.
DUH !
I learned that this is not installing because I couldn’t find “the examples” folder in the Arduino IDE as required by the instructions on page 7 of the Kit.
Page 7 requires “SIK code”, which I downloaded to be moved into the example folder of the Arduino IDE.
NOTE: The USB Driver from www.sparkfun.com/ch340 seems to work, but don’t trust me.
CAN YOU FIGURE THIS OUT? PLEASE BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA.
Can you package this into ONE PROGRAM that can be downloaded ONCE instead of 14 DOWNLOADS.
I would be eternally grateful.
If that doesn’t work then, there must be something wrong with my computer.
And I’ll have ask for refund because my Chromebook doesn’t even try to cooperate.
Sincerely brettbotas@gmail.com
Hello. I’m not sure I’m following. You downloaded the items from this page, correct?
You don’t really need to download the SIK code, you can copy and paste it from each page in the guide I linked. The USB driver download has a video guide, viewable here: How to Install CH340 Drivers - SparkFun Learn
You just go to this website
and click the download button. When you restarted, did you remember to uninstall the CH340 drivers?
Had they put these all into one download rather than linking the individual locations (there’s only three), you wouldn’t be getting the most updated versions of the Arduino IDE or the CH340 driver. Also it wouldn’t be “one program”, it would be two programs and one folder of resources(the SIK) which you would have to unzip and it would be far more complicated than downloading individually. I understand it’s frustrating!
I’m using the Sparkfun book from the kit.
I’m talking about copy paste, zip un zip file.
I’m probably getting the right updated stuff now.
You have the wrong IDE, you’re not programming a PLC. (Programmable Logic Controller)
I recommend using the regular, legacy IDE version 1.8.19 with the Sparkfun inventors kit. That should match what you see in the directions for the SIK.
