Is my Kent Display broken?

Hey guys,

I bought this display here in the sparkfun store and received it pretty quick. Unfortunately I figured out that a ffc cable is need and I ordered one in germany and not the Breakout Board for Kent Displays here in the shop. I soldered the other end of the cable and connect it to the pins on my keil mcb2300 Evaluation Board (LPC2368).

So if I switch the power of the board on is it normal that there is no reaction on the display at all? I checked the voltage of the pins from the display and there is everything correct. I still have some white pressure points on it and nothing happens.

Is that normal?

Furthermore I`d like to know how the initializing of the SPI interface works on a ARM? I had a look on the data sheet and there is a ELEC_ERASE command to remove the pressure points.

Could anyone tell me how to use that command.

The data sheet is here: http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc … ts_id=9560

Thanks in advance and I hope someone can help me

cheers chiefrokka

PS: I posted this already in a sub thread but there was no reply. Pls I really need to know if its broken!!
