Issue with multiple USB RFID readers on a USB hub

We have a project which is attempting to use three separate [USB RFID Readers and [ID-20LA RFID Sensors. We only need to read one of them at a time during 15-minute windows throughout the day. We are communicating with them using LabVIEW’s VISA driver. All of the sensors are connected to a single [4-port USB Hub from a laptop running Windows 10 and they are spaced roughly 6 inches apart.

When starting our program, all three sensors seem to be working since they beep when an RFID tag is presented. However, after ~15 minutes, we no longer hear the beeping. During the time window when we actually need to read the tags, the sensors don’t beep or report any IDs. I can’t tell if this is a common issue or if it’s due to something about our setup. I have disabled Selective Suspend in Windows in case that will help but any other ideas or troubleshooting tips are appreciated.](https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/)](RFID Reader ID-20LA (125 kHz) - SEN-11828 - SparkFun Electronics)](SparkFun RFID USB Reader - SEN-09963 - SparkFun Electronics)

Try a powered USB hub and separate the readers by at least two feet and see if that helps.
