I recently had issues with my RTK facet, purchased in April 2025, powering on intermittently and the display working only intermittently. I bought a new display and everything is now working properly. The clear display cable from the screen had a short in it. After opening the RTK facet enclosure up I realized what I had done. There was a gap at the top of the screen for clearance for the cable. Not knowing this I thought the adhesive was failing and so I kept pushing it back into place, which eventually caused the cable to pinch or wear. I thought I was fixing a defect, but rather I created one. It may be good to note that on the product page that the display gap is intentional or you could even add a feature to the plastic enclosure that is thin, curved, and protruded to make it less noticeable and detour operators from messing with the bulge next time you update the plastic injection mold. I know the boot may help slightly, but it doesn’t cover that bulge or protect it. I’m sending a picture of the new display installed and powered on.
Thank you for posting and for your feedback here.
We try not to clutter up the product pages specifically but I am sure we can add a note that this gap is intentional somewhere in documentation for the time being. The other solution is a bit more involved as a revision. We will see what we can do.
Sorry this issue caused you some headache and that you had to order a replacement display. I will reach out to you via PM and see if we can make this a bit more painless.
