Hi,I recently purchased the Jetbot( https://www.sparkfun.com/products/16417) for my university projects from a distributor in Germany.
There were problems with the first boot. I had to reflash the SD card several times so that the system could start. The system hung constantly and seemed overwhelmed. System errors were also often displayed. In the meantime, I bought a new SD card. I wanted to flash the actual image file from NVIDIA onto it (the latest Jetpack). However, it did not work after booting twice. Then I flashed the image file from your homepage onto it again. The system now runs more smoothly.
An internet connection with the Edimax is still difficult. It got better when I reflashed it on the new SD card. The connection to the internet can be established but with poor quality. Even if the Jetbot is right next to the router. If I want to run the example programmes, this is not possible via the Edimax. This means that a wireless connection with the Jetson is not possible (neither pinging, SSH or anything else). This means that the Jetson cannot be used by JupyterLab via another laptop. What is problematic For the actual intended application and for our projects in the university.
Furthermore, sometimes the camera cannot be accessed in the sample programs and no camera instance can be created. Also, JupyterLab often crashes because the kernel has to be restarted. The only solution I have found is to restart the Jetson. The camera is connected correctly and nothing is changed in the code of the sample programmes, only executed. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. A colleague of yours has already written to me in the sparkfun forum that the Edimax should be replaced. I will have to exchange the Edimax at the distributor. Since your hardware is included and you have made test runs with it, I wanted to ask whether the complete system should be exchanged or whether the problems mentioned are normal?
