L6470 Autodriver: Occasionally runs backwards

It is more than that, actually.

First, everything on my telescope was working correctly, so I seriously doubt it is the sketch, but…

Recently it has started to run backwards. That is, opposite the commanded direction. For example, if I command backwards it runs backwards. Then if I command forwards it runs backwards .

And it also sometimes “chatters”. That is it sits there are jogs back and forth a few degrees.

Any ideas? is this a torque problem?

I think I fixed the problem.

Hard to believe, but the locking ring on one of the connectors to the problem motor was slightly loose. I tightened it and it started behaving correctly.

I will be exercising it here to make sure.
