Last panel shipped was nnnn on mm/dd/yy?

Hello,

Dumb question from a first-time user…

http://batchpcb.com/index.php/BpcbStats contains a line like:

“Last panel shipped was 1060 on 10/06/10”

Does this shipment refer to the one from the PCB fab to BatchPCB, or from BatchPCB to end customers?

The panel for my order is lower than the last panel shipped as indicated by the BpcbStats page, yet I have not received anything yet and my order still shows up as “processing”. Hence my question.

Thanks!

It refers to shipping to BatchPCB to end customers. It’s possible your panel was out of order – maybe it needed redone. Normally there would be an email to you when your board ships to you. I would ask support if I were you.

Thanks analogon. I received the email indicating that my order had shipped. I didn’t have to contact BatchPCB support. I used the cheapest shipping option (first class USPS mail) but even then I got a tracking number that I could use to track the package, so that was nice.

What was confusing to me is that I received the shipping notice email from BatchPCB about a week after “Last panel shipped was nnnn on mm/dd/yy” indicated that my panel had shipped.

Anyway, it’s all good – I now have my PCBs and am very happy with the service. It was a long wait, though, but it was clear based on the BatchPCB FAQ that it was going to be like that.

Cheers!

Hello,

is there anything wrong with the indications on the BatchPCB site ?

I see :

Last panel shipped was 1079 on 10/19/10

Nothing has been sent to customers in a whole week ?

Last design ran was number: 43574

Last panel sent out for processing was 1104 on 10/27/10

Last panel shipped was 1081 on 10/27/10

Indeed, it has increased since my post  I’ve also seen panel #1080 for a short time !

It was mainly a question about the update rate of these informations : do they really reflect what is sent ? I think a 1 day delay is not that much, but here there was a complete week without any update.

Edit: Do you know what is the average number of boards/designs per panel ?

There’s something odd about the system. Right now the last panel shipped was 1082 on 10/27/10, but I received my order today and it was on panel 1084  Moreover, my order is still being processed according to the order status page, but there is a tracking number on the page (and the page was last changed on 10/27/10). So I’m guessing that the “last panel shipped was nnn on mm/dd/yy” is not always up to date.

It looks like writing a message in this thread updates the infos on the site

My PCB is on panel #1088 and #1086 has just been shipped. So I will post 2 others messages and my PCB will be shipped !

Your order has been shipped!

Damn ! Faster than expected and no need for another post

Thank you to the BatchPCB staff !

I believe that my four boards were on panel panel 1088 or 1089 or somewhere in that range.

I have yet to receive an email so far. Status is still listed as processing and now the web page states that 1095 has shipped. I also wonder if response is slow. No real issue other than I hope to have them by early next week. It would be nice to have them for my show and tell demonstration next Friday evening.

The “Order Status:” description should tell you that.

I wouldn’t be surprised if sometimes panels do not come in in exact order. Would yours be a 4-sided board maybe? Just a long shot question.

No. all four designs are 2 layer. Only thing I would figure is that one board is 1.9 inch diameter in size. Yes it is a round board. :? :? I am hoping it did not cause any trouble.

edit comment:

Yes I am aware that 4 layer designs the panels can get out of order.

The size and shape will not cause any problems. Also yes, Panels do ship out of order. Just to clarify “paid” means your order is in line to be panelized. “Processing” means your order has been panelized and is in line to be manufactured. 4 layer orders do NOT get panelized, they are sent out individually.

Thanks for the input. It has been just about 12 business days since the status of “processing” has been on the board.

If they ship by the end of this week, will still be within the window.

Man i was just about to post this exact question…glad i looked first  This is good to know, my boards are 5 away from being shipped, means they’re probably en-route from china now.

This is the dates of the panel that we have sent out to the customers. Panels do return out of chronological/numerical order sometimes. I know this can be confusing, but if you ever have a question about your order feel free to email support@batchpcb.com.
