LB SMT Serivces

Lil Brother SMT Assembly Services is happy to announce we are ready for your assembly jobs.

We are now offering our new Customer referral program. Here’s how it works:

Refer a prospective customer to us, and upon completion of their order, you will receive either a 10% cash back bonus (receive cash equal to 10% of the total sale from your referral) or a 20% price reduction (receive a 20% discount off your next completed order). Percentages are based on the assembly price less S+H.

Lil Brother SMT services provides PCB assembly of SMD parts for private individuals or small companies. We are a no frills PCB assembler for the “little guy”.

Hi,

is there any chance for us to work with you on PCBs fabrication?

If you would like to discuss the possibility you may email us at:

Support"at"lil-brother.com (replace the “at” with @ )

Because we are no frills, the price and quality of PCB’s is ultimately important. We do not recommend many PCB manufacturers, to our clients, mainly because of minimums and prices prohibitive for hobbyist/small business.

OK, here’s some feedback after I spent way too long on your site trying to figure out what it would cost:

  • Put some sample pricing ON THE FRONT PAGE. e.g., 20 parts, SMT on 10 boards costs $$$. This at least lets me know if I should look further or you’re out of my league.

  • A link to a spreadsheet showed up once then disappeared. I have no idea what page it was on, but I couldn’t find it again.

  • You don’t say where you are located. This can be important if I’m concerned about shipping times & costs.

  • Give visitor a quick tutorial on what’s needed to get boards assembled. List items

  • What’s a fiducial? I can look it up, but if you’re catering to hobbyists, they will have questions like this.

I am definitely interested in your services. I have someone who orders 30-100+ boards a year and that will increase as I get more customers. I have never sent out SMT boards for assembly (have experience with through hole) so this is new to me. Remember that if it takes me too long to figure out your site I’ll look for someone else that’s easier.

I’m not trying to be mean. I think you have a great service, but I find your site difficult to navigate. Hope the criticism was constructive!

After looking at the spreadsheet some of my concerns went away. Perhaps a link to that spreadsheet along with some sample pricing on the front page would be useful.

I think your prices are pretty good btw. I haven’t compared with anyone else, but they are within the ballpark of what I budgeted for when I priced my board.

Lyndon,

If you don’t mind, cruise back by the site, and look at the changes that have been made. We would like to here if our improvements reduce the confusion of earlier.

We are still working on the tutorials.

James L

Hmmmmm,

We were hoping to get some feedback on the changes that were made.

We are still working on other things…like some pictures of the equipment…and the order/status pages…

If anyone cruises by the site…some feed back would be appreciated.

JL

James,

I didn’t see the site before, but the I visited it today and it was quite straight forward to use. I didn’t have any real problems finding the info I wanted. The only thing you might consider is giving the “great sample file” more prominence on your site.

Thanks,

PeterM

Peter,

We appreciate the feedback. We are not totally happy with the sample file. We are slowly working on some tutorials and new sample files for the site.

Hopefully, we will get more customers. We have have good success with the last two runs we assembled. The last 3 runs results were:

96% success rate

100% success rate (of what has been reported)

100% success rate (of what has been reported)

We rely heavily on our customers to provide feedback of success rates. This helps us find the problem area of their assembly process and prevent the future problems. (We will fix any problems from the assembly process free of charge.)

We are looking for more customers and are offering a referral reward for new customers. If anyone is interested, you can find the referral offer on our website. www.lil-brother.com

Hi!

I “cruised by” the forum and spoke to the look of the site. I haven’t spent a lot of time on it yet, but the color theme is pretty depressing - cavelike, really. I once had a site like that and my sales were dismal. Once I put together a crisp layout, my sales went up. It was pretty weird, to say the least.

I’m in the market for SMD assembly of 100 boards of a switching power supply. Most of the parts are SMD, and some are TH, like the power transformer and input connector and some linear regulators. I have all of the parts on reels…you’ll let me supply those, right?

I’m almost finished with the layout and am looking at starting in the next month. My boards say “Made in USA” on them, and I want to keep it that way. BTW, your prices do not seem out of line.

Aaron,

We have been torn by the color scheme, but we chose it for a specific reason. Some of our “older” customers have eyesight than is less than perfect. We tried to design a website that was easy on the eyes. White on black is easier to read than black on white. While being easier on the eyes, it has a depressing mood associated with it.

We have had one other than disliked our color choices. He is an associate who we deal with alot.

We will consider a color change…

As for your boards to be assembled, we will email you directly concerning your job.

Thanks,

JL
