ln96 power from pc?

hi, im trying to use 2 ln96 rf modems to communicate between a microcontroller and a laptop. my question is how can the modem be powered by the laptop? do i need a separate board with a separate power source or can i power it directly from the rs-232 (serial usb converter if thats helpful) somehow?(i’ve read the manuals-not helpful, an example circuit diagram would have been nice.)

According to the datasheet, these units need 5V at up to 450mA when transmitting. You could theoretically use one of our TOL-08639 cables to supply 5V at up to 500mA to the radio, but you’ll need to try it to see whether it actually works or not (the radio datasheet notes that the power source needs to be clean for the radio to function well).
