Loud audio from raspberry pi

I bought a Super Mini PAM8403 DC 5V 2 Channel USB Digital Audio Amplifier Board Module 2 3W Volume Control with Potentionmeter Switch for my robot project but like most RPi amplifier, the audio out of the speakers is very low volume even with the volume cranked all the way up. I want my robot to be heard across the room or the yard. Any suggestions are very welcome. Thank you all in advance.

I regret to say that I am unfamiliar with the product you describe and I hope that perhaps someone in the community may be able to chime in.
