My new redboard plus just released some magic smoke when I plugged in a 12V barrel plug.
No problems with USB connection.
I checked the power supply. 12V, tip positive no problem.
Looks to me like the 3.3V regulator or nearby cap were the culprits.
Carefully plugging it back in with USB, I can measure 5V and 3.3V, but the board doesn’t boot.
The green power LED is on.
There was nothing attached to the board at the time.
The board seems likely bricked, but I’m wondering if you’ve seen this before.
