Unfortunatly, the smallest screw I have is a M3. Smallest my hardware store sells. I was wondering, if I drill the 2.5mm hole out to 3mm, would it break anything?
In my experience, you can’t make them much larger than they are without a risk that the corners will break off.
The serlcd version of the same product (which I have) has holes that measure about 0.095 inches. I think pushing it to 0.125 (clearance hole size for M3 screw) may be possible if you have a step drill bit and you go slowly.
I think that I was able to mount my displays using 2-56 screws. I don’t remember having to drill the holes out, but I can’t be sure. If you have a Radio Shack near you, they carry the 2-56 screws and nuts in small quantities.
They’ve got everything, and at least here in the U.S., delivery is preternaturally fast. I believe they have some kind of bargain with Satan. I once ordered a pair of snap-ring pliers at 5:30 PM, and they were at my door at 10:30 AM the next day. There was a whiff of sulphur in the air.
