Manufacturing your own PCB

Hi, doesn anyone here manufacture your own PCB’s?

If so, is there a place you can order the copper layout by itself? I think the manufacturing process inhibits this?

Or, one idea i am kickign around, is if you have a pcb, can you pull the copper layer off and apply it elsewhere?

Thanks,

Clay

Dear Clay,

When you say “order the copper layout by itself”, were you thinking that the copper is somehow cut out, and THEN “stuck” to the board?

Doesn’t work like that.

For description of a hobbyist way to make PCBs (which will clarify the above for you), see…

Hey, thanks for Link. My idea is to make my part my pcb, instead of mounting a pcb to the part. my Pcb’s will contain sensors that will require vibration reductions ect…

So i can go research how to do the etching, i need to find some information on how to get the cladding on my part to begin with.

PS… that link has some good information… thanks again.

Hey, I found it… “Kapton copper clad” its a flexible PCB, I can just use an epoxy to bond it to my part.
