Hi,
I’m working with my ez430 and I am not able to read an input (I made my own target board with a proto board). What is the range that an IO pin can read for a high, and what is the maximum that an IO pin can take as an input, the max?
Thank you

what does the data sheet say. there you will find your answer.
The voltage should not go over VCC. That should be around 3.3V
Anything over that, the protection diodes will start conducting and you will stress them out, or blow them.
check the data sheet under “absolute maximum ratings” (it agrees with scoot, the pins are not 5v tolerant) and also under “electrical characteristics over recommended operating free-air temperature” (you probably want the parameter labeled V_IT+, it’s usually labeled V_IH on other data sheets)
