Micro-bit and Sphero RVR Project

My kid was trying to accomplish the project located here:

https://sdk.sphero.com/docs/samples_con … er_sample/

While setting it up the red button broke off a couple metal connectors so we adjusted the program to only read 3 buttons. We’ve got the program to work on the micro-bit. We can see an X or check mark (dumb luck since you can’t see the color on the robot)

The problem is the RVR stays in idle mode. We connect the Micro-bit and Sparkfun build out as stated. We turn the RVR on and it flashes twice but then steadily rotates between blue and purple while the program runs on the Micro-bit. The RVR never changes colors like it’s supposed to.

I even did the getting started temperature project to keep it simple and the same result. The RVR stays in idle mode.

I am sure that I am missing some really simple, really apparent step…but I can’t figure out what it is.

I updated RVR firmware to latest build too.

Please help us get back on track! Hopefully this is the right forum.

Thanks!

Hey there,

Unfortunately, I believe that we only provide the hardware for that kit and Sphero did the development for interfacing with the micro:bit. That being said, here is a link to some buttons replacements:

Additionally, here are a few resources from Sphero for troubleshooting and to contact them:
