I’ve recently purchased 3x [WRL-12938 boards but am having some issues.
I’m trying to use a sine wave to synchronise some clients, the fact the boards are hardwire’d to use the ground of the minijack cable as the antenna are causing me a lot of issues.
Can you help me figure out how to edit the board so i can add my own fixed antenna?
I intend on using a signal generator to broadcast a sine wave that i’ll use as a refresh rate for some clients (hoping the clients all receive the same signal without any drift or jitter).
This means I’ll have the Left audio signal, and the ground reference for the signal generator.
How would you go about wiring this since using a mini jack will force the ground to be a second antenna, I expect I would need to solder the Left audio signal to the L pad. Regarding the signal generators ground reference point, to avoid the issue of having a second antenna shall I connect it to the ground pin on the board’s header, but not the ground on the on the mini jack that you pointed out?
Since it’s a 5 pin minijack port, i must plug a jack in for the signal to come through, which forces two antennas. I don’t think this solution will work.
What kind of signal generator are you planning on using? RF or AF (audio)?
If you’re using a RF generator you don’t really need a ground at all, just the output connected to the antenna pin on the board would do. You probably don’t even need to connect it at all, just getting it close to the antenna would probably do the trick.
I wouldn’t recommend connecting an audio signal generator to the headphone jack since it’s output would be back feeding into the boards output. Bad things could happen to the board, your AF signal generator or both.
