My device does not launch the network configuration, so I cannot configure the messages to work with survey master. I updated the version from v.3_6 to v.3_10 and it still does not generate the network to connect via wifi
Following this. I’m having the same issue with the RTK Reference Station. Wifi settings are all correct but it will not connect to a single router.
Same with my 2 RTK Facets, neither will connect to wi-fi routers.
Hi @FabianLuna11 / @csigis / @Gvheagle,
Apologies for the inconvenience.
Please tell me:
Did WiFi used to work, but now doesn’t - following an upgrade?
Or have you never been able to get WiFi to work?
(I am trying to work out if something has changed in the firmware. Or if we need to help you to configure WiFi.)
Thank you,
Paul
Our fleet of Facet-LB’s are all on V3.10 and I received a report yesterday that one unit will not WiFi Connect to update the PointPerfect Keys.
The user re-entered the WiFi Credentials and tried 2 different routers. The factory reset trick didn’t work either.
Everything was previously working correctly.
I’m sending a replacement today and will have the unit in-hand hopefully tomorrow to troubleshoot via serial.
I keep one Facet LB (also V3.10) in my office and it automatically connected and updated it’s keys yesterday seamlessly.
I just bought my device and I have not been able to configure it via network, it does not launch the rtk config network, not even updating to v.3_10
I just received the unit and out-of-box it very inconsistently connected. It could never hold a signal long enough to connect to send any data to the caster service (rtk2go or Emlid). Was hoping the firmware upgrade would solve the issue, but it doesn’t connect at all at this point. Appreciate any help and thanks for looking into this.
I just received a report of a 2’nd Facet LB in our fleet on V3.10 not updating keys today.
My plan is to roll back to V3.9 and test when I get my hands on one of the affected units.
Hi folks - We’re looking into this.
@rftop - You may have a different issue. Be sure you are still in the year’s long subscription window. If you purchased your unit more than 12 months ago, let us know.
Using v3.10 firmware, I am able to connect to all the current hardware over WiFi and am able to load and use the Config page. I’ll keep testing but in the mean time, there are a few things to try using the Serial config method (https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_RTK_ … th_serial/):
-
Disable MDNS - This is in the WiFi menu (‘6’), option ‘m’ (https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_RTK_ … wifi/#mdns)
-
Disable Captive Portal - This is in the WiFi menu (‘6’), option ‘c’
I have found that turning off MDNS make the Config page load in a more repeatable manner.
You many want to consider a factory reset (https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_RTK_ … tory-reset).
@csigis - Do you have the external 2.4GHz antenna attached to the ESP32 SMA port?
@Gvheagle - Are you attempting to get into the config page? Or are you trying to connect to a WiFi network so that the RTK Facets can use NTRIP to get corrections?
@rftop - I believe you have an expired L-Band subscription. Please contact customerservice@sparkfun.com to get it renewed.
@FabianLuna11 - When you press the SETUP button to enter Config mode, do you get the SSID page shown here: https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_RTK_ … with_wifi/ ? Does any device (laptop, other cell phone, etc) see the RTK Config? If WiFi is not possible, consider using the serial configuration interface for now: https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_RTK_ … th_serial/
I do have the 2.4 GHz antenna attached and can confirm the routers accept a 2.4 GHz connection.
@csigis - Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe you have a different issue: you are having problems connecting to a caster service. This does not relate to the OP, which is related to connecting to the WiFi config page for configuring the device. Please open a new post so that we do not confuse the support recommendations.
In the new post, I would like to know:
- There are two steps to connecting to a caster service: connecting to the local WiFi network, and then connecting to the caster (RTK2Go or Emlid). Does your unit connect to WiFi successfully? Does your unit then connect to the caster successfully? This will help us diagnose your issue (please create a separate thread to communicate these responses).
