Hi,
I’m trying to use NEO-D2S in combination with ANN-MB-00 GNSS multiband antenna to receive correction data from L1 and L2 bands.
I have configured the board following the manual.
I try see if data is coming in using UBX-RXM-PMP but I receive no data. I then changed antenna to my TOP106 antenna and then everything works as expected.
The ANN-MB-00 GNSS multiband antenna is supposed to be able to receive L1 and L2/L5 bands. Any ideas why this does not work?

Hi Martin,
Strictly, for the NEO-D9S, you need an antenna which is capable of “L-Band” reception, as the frequency and gain needs are slightly different to normal GNSS. Combined antennas are usually referred to as “L1 + L2 + L-band”. That said, I have had that same u-blox antenna working well with the NEO-D9S. But it was up on the parapet of the SparkFun building. The parapet is metal-clad, acts as a ground plane and provides an excellent view of the sky, almost horizon to horizon. I guess, in your case, the TOP106 with its built-in ground plane is giving you a better signal at the critical NEO / Inmarsat frequency.
TLDR: from the NEO-D9S integration manual:
"
L-band refers to the operating frequency range of 1–2 GHz in the radio spectrum. However in this
case we are referring to a corrections receiver that can operate at 1525.0 - 1559.0 MHz (1550.0 -
1559.0 MHz for NEO-D9S-01A). An active antenna is required to provide sufficient low noise gain
at the required correction service frequency and ensure any cable loss does not impact the antenna
noise figure.
"
Best wishes,
Paul
