You get used to Eagle but when I thought about it I knew so much better could be done, especially to serve makers who weren’t trained in CE like me. Super easy to use, share and collaborate on electronics projects. One use case I see being used in these forums: someone can post a question about their schematic or layout by just embedding it or posting a link that will be able to easily add notes to (or even edit), without exporting image/uploading/making changes/reuploading etc.
It’s something I’ve been working on for a bit and will launch into private beta soon(-ish). If you sign-up for the beta by 11AM CST today (i.e. soon) you’ll have a chance to win some free PCBs (up to $80). Thanks.

Any way to see what it’s like (screenshots etc)? I don’t put my email address into boxes without knowing what my expected return is.
Screenshots and more about the app this week. Just need to get something up soon for a hackathon. It’s definitely more of a private beta at this stage. I’m sure less relevant to for you with the amount of PCB production you do but now there are about ~50 signups now with 3 free $80 PCB orders so expected return could be calculated for that element. Thanks.
I was recently thrust into the world of Eagle - while I could pick it up fairly quickly, I couldn’t help but notice that there’s many things in it that are quite a throwback to the stone ages when coming from other CAD applications. Half the board ended up being bridged between Eagle and another ‘CAD’ app, and the rest needed a good handful of ULPs (some custom written) to do what needed to be done.
It shouldn’t be particularly difficult to do better (though doing it in-browser may be challenging?) on some of the basic tasks. I’d guess all the auto-routing, getting a library of parts for people to work with, etc. would be the tough ones.
So… I wish you luck with your endeavor
Very interesting indeed. A hosted solution has meny benefits, including shared libraries.
I would like to play with it. Can it import Eagle files?
I use FreePCB and TinyCAD. Its gonna be hard to beat free.
Also for our Corporate usage, it would have to have a ‘private’ area for designs that are intended to make $$$. Also it should be able to export gerbers that I can send to anyone.
Shared libs would be your biggest leverage, I would hate to have to port all my parts and footprints to eagle even. I would suggest you also import tinycad and freepcb files/libs.
