New to arduino and need some advice

So I thought I was getting jst-sm connectors and got PRT-09916 to use with the 30 led 1m addressable rgb strip. My question is will these still work to connect the led strip to the arduino uno I just bought?

I could have swore what I ordered was similar to adafruits (https://www.adafruit.com/products/578) but I guess not. So will these do what I want (not solder) or do I need to break out my soldering iron? I’d prefer not to solder being so new to all this.

Is there a connector to put on the bare end of the JST’s to insert into arduino or is that neccessary?

Many thanks to all those who answer questions like mine. I lurked unregistered for a while reading. Your posts helped.

I would e-mail SFE tech support w/this question.

It seems to me that if you don’t want to use the soldering iron, then you have to purchase the correct one. But it looks like the one you purchased will work with some thought… And your soldering iron…
