No output from a CS-E9302

Hi,

I just bought an Olimex CS-E9302 board and I can’t see anything on the serial ports. I’ve followed the Quick Start guide as closely as possible and I suspect I’m missing something. The LEDs light up properly so I am confident that my power supply (+5v on tip, gnd on ring) is good.

I have an USB to RS232 converter going into the back of the Windows 2000 box with a Female to Female cable between the board and the serial converter to swap genders. The drivers (standard Prolific chip set connecting to COMM4) seem to be installed properly.

I’m using Hyper Terminal, with COMM4 set to 57600, 8 bit, no parity and no flow control.

I’ve tried connecting to port 0 and port 1 on the Olimex board but I can’t get see anything on Hyper Terminal.

Is there a jumper configuration/set up item that I’m missing?

I think I’ve figured out what is wrong.

I need a null modem cable instead of just a straight through cable… I think Rx and Tx are swapped over…

You should try with null modem cable instead normal RS232 cable! goodluck!
