No port showing up for Spark Fun Redboard

I can not get the Arduino IDE to detect a port for my new Spark Fun Redboards!

I have 3 new, Spark Fun redboards successfully powering up and running the blinking light program. My usb cable is tested, my computer, and Arduino IDE are tested, and successfully detects the port for, and uploads to, an Osepp Uno board. I have downloaded and installed the FTDI drivers as described on the spark fun tutorial. Still, no port. I am running OS X 10.12.6 fully updated.

Why?

thanks

Hi Jim,

If you’re still not seeing the serial port for your RedBoard, my guess is the Apple VCP drivers are conflicting with the ones you installed from our tutorial. The official installation instructions from [FTDI will go over how to disable those Apple-installed drivers as well as a more thorough set of instructions for installing their drivers on Mac OS X.

I hope this helps and you can get working with your new RedBoards. If you’re still having trouble, please reply to this thread and we can troubleshoot further.](https://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Documents/InstallGuides.htm)
