non rectangular board examples

I am working on a board where one part is SMD but has a rounded portion that extends below the plane of the board. The manufacturer’s footprint shows the dimensions and shape to cutout to allow this portion to lay down, through the board.

I think the general question I have is how to make a non-rectangular board shape in Eagle. I’ve googled this question and haven’t come up with much or any examples or tutorials, so it makes me think I’m asking the wrong question or using the wrong term. I’ve also looked through the Eagle manual as well and don’t see what I’m looking for.

In essence I need to cut a chunk out of the side of the board in a specific shape to accommodate the component.

Can anyone point me to any URL that describes how to do this?

You just need to edit the shape on the dimension layer. You can then use any of the line, circle, arc (etc) tools to make up a custom shape.

Make sure you send the gerber for the dimension layer to the PCB house as well though.

Thank you for the direction. I will dig into that.
