I’m an artist. I’m doing a 21 speaker sound installation. Using 8 inch passive speakers dangling from the ceiling. Someone mentioned using a tsunami as it has 8 outs (I can buy three of them I guess).
So my questions are
How do I connect my passive speakers to the tsunami, they require an amplifier. Do I need to purchase 21 separate mini amplifiers, and if so, what and where? How do I connect the speakers to the TRRS 3.5mm breakout?
Can the audio files be set to play automatically, or do I need to separately ‘ground’ or activate the inputs. As it is an installation I will likely not be there the whole time. So it’s a plug and walk away situation. The idea is to have 21 different audio files (for the 21 speakers), that loop and change over time (which will be precomposed).

If the speakers need to be independent (no audio shared among the 21), yes, they'll each need their own amplifier channel. On the plus side, after the Tsunami, it's a pretty straightforward part of the project without anything difficult to buy or needing beyond basic handtools. Break out the audio cables and route to the amplifiers. Provide power to amps. Hang the speakers in an artful dangley yet secure manner and wire to the amps.
The downside is that there’s supposed to be 21 of them. Eight would be a handful, 21 is going to be a headache. Sparkfun has a few [nice looking amps and there loads to find elsewhere. Some will be stereo which is two channels in one but be aware may share a volume/tone control or similar. Higher power & volume will be higher problems every step of the way.](SparkFun Qwiic Speaker Amp - DEV-20690 - SparkFun Electronics)
