NVIDIA Jetbot Kit Jetson Nano not booting correctly

Hi, I bought the latest jetbot kit and was working through the software setup.

I flashed the image and then connected the monitor, keyboard and mouse to it and turned it on. All I saw was the NVIDIA logo flash once or twice on my screen and then nothing. It didn’t boot. I tried this multiple times, with the jetbot image as well as the original jetson nano developer image (the base image available for download on NVIDIAs website) but I had no luck. I think that this could be an issue with the monitor not being native HDMI (I was using a VGA-HDMI adapter). I don’t have a native HDMI monitor and being a student I really don’t have money to buy one nor possible to get hold of one with the current lockdown situation.

I tried a headless boot using putty on Windows 10 and was able to successfully login to jetbot. However, I was not able to setup autologin and wifi on the jetbot. The EDIMAX N150 WiFi-BT usb adapter was connected to the jetson but when I checked for connections through the command line I couldn’t see any wifi connections available. In fact when I checked for ```
wlan0

We’ve had other users experience this behavior as well. Is the power light still light when you plug it in?

Yes the green power LED is stable, no issue with that.

This is most likely being caused by the Jetson running a video mode that your HDMI to VGA adapter is not happy with.

Unfortunately, the only thing we can recommend is trying an actual HDMI monitor, or a DVI monitor with a HDMI to DVI cable.
